Timur B Better than just good. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/11/23 Full Review alex h A lot of people recommended this movie to me, but I found it shameful for me to actually find it very boring, slow paced and it's setting being overused. In Russia there are a lot of TV channels that put melodramatic TV shows season after season every single day. Their setting is very boring and literally portrays real life and you should believe in such real life to like such sort of movies. But the thing with real life is that it can be boring, just like the story and plot of this film. The operator and setting are good, of course, but the thing with them is that there was 0 effort put into that, as what is portrayed in the movie is just typical every day Russia. The actors are not well at acting, as most of their emotions don't seem real. The feelings are not well contrasted, as the reactions to one's emotional responses in this movie are literal poker faces. The ending is very predictable and boring, although it is the only part of the movie where you believe in what the actors are doing! Honestly, "Aritmia" can be seen in real life, all a person has to do is just come to Russia with low amount of money, rent an apartment and live, because this movie is just a literal every day life of Russian people. Only watch this if you want to know how it is to live in Russia, otherwise, don't trust the good reviews and don't spend your time watching this. I am very surprised by how a typical TV-like domestic drama got a whopping 7.7 on kinopoisk and 7.4 on IMDB. Maybe it is because of how relatable characters in this movie are to people watching it, but for me, it was a great disappointment as prior to this movie I have seen a lot of other Russian domestic dramas with lower ratings, but better plot, characters and literally everything else. A 3/10, characters are not well exposed, their motives are questionable and the entire movie is boring and leaves bad aftertaste, like if you have watched a fake reality show.
